BRAINS Courses

The student mobility program will be centered on three key pillars in health sciences:

    • Data acquisition using contemporary high-throughput technologies
    • Analysis of ‘big data’
    • Hands-on disease-specific experience.

They will uniquely combine laboratory skills with applied analytical approaches to maximize the potential of the “-omic” data revolution to transform health outcomes on the continent.

The staff mobilities will focus on administration, management and specific courses or workshops with a dual aim for personal professional development and to strengthen higher education in Africa.

The training programs will provide theoretical proficiency in the disciplines listed above. The mobility provided by BRAINS will give trainees first-hand, real-life and hands-on experience, putting theory into practice.

BRAINS will supplement this overall training experience with relevant short courses that equip trainees with employability-enhancing skills such as grant and manuscript preparation or science communication and embed them in strong health science research networks.

The European Union (EU) Technical Partner, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) will provide support for the management, implementation and sustainability of the project.
